St. Croix Valley Adventures – Fishing Trip for Two Adults
This auction item is a 4-hour fishing trip for two adults with St. Croix Valley Adventures. Do not be fooled; this is not your typical fishing trip! Bob Bickford, of St. Croix Valley Adventures, will take you out on a drift boat to the shallowest portions of the St. Croix River to fish for Smallmouth Bass and Pike. The trip is designed for anglers who have experience casting a fly rod and/or using conventional equipment. Before bidding you are urged to watch the video provided in order to understand the style of
fishing and the environment in which it takes place.
The majority of the float trips take place on what is otherwise known as the “canoe water”. The fishing is catch and release only in the interest of showcasing the beauty of the St. Croix and the wildlife that populate our wonderful river.
Lunch, beverages, and all the necessary gear for fly fishing. This has become a very popular activity in the past decade for a good reason. The St. Croix River is among the top Smallmouth Bass Rivers in the country and it is Minnesota’s only river with a “National Wild and Scenic” river designation. Together, this makes for an unbeatable combination of scenery, wildlife, and fishing, all within a
short distance of the Minneapolis and Saint Paul area. Take the time to appreciate the stunning and vibrant nature our area has to offer!
Meet Your Guide, Bob Bickford:
"I have spent the last 15 years fishing/guiding the St. Croix River and its Trout rich tributaries. While specializing in fish flying, I can create a customized fishing adventure for just about anyone. The St. Croix has over a hundred miles of "drift-able" water and I am familiar with most of it. With that being said, my clients and I spend the majority of our days drifting a couple floats that only my
service utilizes. The fishing pressure is light and more often than not we have the water to ourselves. The best time to take a float trip down the river is just when the rest of the anglers are out on any 1 of the 10,000 lakes, June through September."
